ABOUT US
We are the Liv Quartet, an international clarinet quartet founded in 2021. We are based in Frankfurt am Main, where we met during our studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts. Our project was born out of a desire to raise the visibility of our innovative ensemble and to bring new ideas to the world of wind chamber music. In this endeavor, we have received invaluable artistic inspiration from two renowned professors, violinist and quartet primarius Tim Vogler, and clarinetist Jaan Bossier.
We have already performed at various festivals and prestigious concert series across Europe, including the Plöner Schlosskonzerte (2023), Homburger Kammermusiktage (2023), MUZ (2023), and Joventuts Musicals de Catalunya (2022). Our regular concert circuit now includes Germany, France, Spain, and Austria.
Participation in international chamber music competitions has accompanied our career from the very beginning. In 2022, we won 1st prize at the Chamber Music Competition of the Polytechnische Gesellschaft Frankfurt am Main and received special recognition at the Concours Musiques d'Ensemble in France and the Concurso Internacional de Música de Cámara Anton Garcia Abril in Spain.
In 2022 and 2023, we were selected to perform in the innovative chamber music series at the Holzhausenschlösschen in Frankfurt with the programs "Klang & Stille / Licht & Schatten" (2022) and "Around Sound" (2023). Additionally, in 2022 we were awarded two grants from Neustart Kultur and the German Music Council for the projects "Klassiker mal anders" and for the recording of our debut CD. In 2023, we also received financial support through the "Ensembles and Bands III" funding from the German Music Fund. In 2024, we were awarded the Ensemble Scholarship by the Society of Friends and Sponsors of the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main.
